South School elementary school, in Rockland, and Thomaston Grammar School are among the many schools nationwide that shed their everyday clothing in favor of costumes fit for the imagination. The two local schools share their 2022 Halloween fun.
South School Halloween Celebration
Dinosaurs, princesses, witches, knights, ninjas, wolves, bears, crayons, and more descended on South School in Rockland on Monday for a Halloween celebration. Parents were invited to the school to watch the afternoon costume parade, which, because of the nice weather, took place outside on the track around the football field. Spooky tunes like “The Monster Mash” and “This is Halloween” provided a festive backdrop. For the second year, students were invited to visit the South School Pumpkin Patch to pick a small pumpkin to take home. Pumpkins for the patch were generously donated by Beth’s Farm of Warren.
Thomaston Grammar School Costume Parade
This year we were able to have our first costume parade since October of 2019. We were so excited to get our students outside in their Halloween costumes! We have always taken the parade by the middle school but this year we were able to take the parade right inside. We got some great support from OMS students! It was nice to see friends and family along the parade route. We had students and staff dressed as dominoes, ninjas, the Cookie Monster, and so much more. It was a great parade!
