Searsmont rollover crash leads to arrest, LifeFlight
SEARSMONT — A Searsmont man was arrested after rolling his vehicle on New England Road July 29, according to a media report.
Albert Rhodes, 46, was charged with operating under the influence, and driving to endanger as a result of the wreck, which left one passenger trapped.
Waldo County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Dale Brown responded to the scene of the accident and was able to identify Rhodes as the driver of the Toyota involved.
Searsmont Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene and had to work to free the trapped passenger, who reportedly suffered serious injuries including broken bones and internal injuries.
LifeFlight of Maine was used to transport the victim to Eastern Maine Medical Center for treatment.
The accident is being reconstructed by Sergeant Cody Laite. Speed and alcohol are both considered to be factors in the accident, according to the report.
Rhodes was transported to Waldo County Correctional Center where he was later released on $400 bail.
