Searsmont crash injures driver and passenger
SEARSMONT — A Dec. 22 crash left both the driver of the vehicle and a passenger with injuries.
The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the crash around 7 p.m., with Corporal Greg Jones responding to the scene, according to a media report.
Once on scene, Corporal Jones learned that the operator had been traveling on Maine Street when the driver lost control of a 2003 GMC truck.
The vehicle reportedly crossed the center line, continuing across the opposite lane where the truck then left the road and struck a tree.
The impact occurred on the passenger side of the vehicle and the occupant of the front passenger seat sustained multiple injuries in the crash. The driver received minor injuries.
Both passenger and driver were transported to Waldo County General Hospital by Searsmont Fire and Ambulance service, who were also on scene.
