ROCKPORT — At the June 11 polls, Rockport approved a $4.5 million sewer extension to construct a 1.5-mile sewer extension running from Sea Light Lane to the PenBay Medical Center. Voters — all 208 who turned out at the polls – also approved a food sovereignty ordinance, several harbor ordinance amendments, and selling a parcel of West Rockport land.

They also elected Denise Munger to the Select Board with 161 votes and Stevie Kumble to the Library Committee, with 172 votes.

By write-in votes, the voters also elected Marci Casas to a one-year term on the Budget Committee, and Geoff Parker, Mark Kelley, and Jeff Charland to three-year terms on the Budget Committee, if they all agree to serve.

Voters also elected, via write-ins on the ballot, Brianna Gutierrez to the School Administrative District 28 and Five Town CSD school boards, by eight votes.

And, voters also elected Bill Chapman to the Library Committee by 24 write-in votes.

Like all write-in votes, the elected will be asked by Rockport Town Clerk Linda Greenlaw if they want to serve on those boards and committees.
