Rockland Police Department hires new patrol officer
ROCKLAND – Nate Tilton has been hired as Rockland’s new patrol officer, according to a news release from the department.
Tilton grew up and went to school in Pittsfield. After high school, he enrolled at Unity College to pursue a bachelor’s degree in conservation law enforcement.
He said that he joined law enforcement because he always thought a career in the field would be a good fit for him.
“I was drawn to municipal law enforcement for the sense of community,” Tilton said.
Tilton said the was also drawn to Rockland because he had a professor in college who started his career with the Rockland Police Department and he had nothing but good things to say about the department.
“I had visited Rockland a few times as a kid, and always enjoyed the coastal setting,” he added.
In his free time, Tilton enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and most anything else there is to do in the outdoors.
