ROCKLAND — The Pearl Restaurant, on the pier in Rockland, reopened June 3 for the summer season. Michelle Ragussis, the Pearl's energetic restaurateur, was pleased with the opening and said they stayed busy on the first night. Ragussis is excited to offer the Midcoast a whole new experience at the Pearl this year.

"Let's rock this town," Ragussis said.

She plans to have Sunday brunch with live music and $3 Bloody Marys and Mimosas. They'll plan to have live music on the weekends through the summer beginning after their opening weekend.

The menu will still feature gourmet seafood dishes, raw oysters, and a focus on lobster with dishes, such as lobster mac and cheese and lobster ravioli. They will also cater to those in search of a good burger and will have a small plates section for the late night crowd.

The Pearl will be serving food until midnight every night and they will be staying open during happy hour. And new this year, they have an 11-drink beer sampler featuring Koelsh beer.

The Pearl was popularized by Chef Michelle Ragussis who was a contestant on the "Food Network Star" TV show on the Food Network in 2012.

This year Ragussis will be on the NBC show "Food Fighters." Once again. she will have viewing parties at the restaurant when new episodes air and lead cooking demonstrations and tastings to compliment the meal in the show.
