Ragged Mountain Ski Patrol invites submissions for 2022 Snow Sculpture Selfie Calendar Contest

Fri, 02/05/2021 - 8:15pm

Wanted: Photos of your best snow person/creature and you for a 2022 calendar to be published by the Ragged Mountain Ski Patrol.

RMSP, the Midcoast’s division of the National Ski Patrol, consists of local citizens who volunteer their time at the Camden Snow Bowl, providing emergency outdoor care and toboggan transportation down the mountain for skiers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The calendar is a RMSP fundraiser, a celebration of our community and winter, and all the creative snow artists. The Ragged Mountain Ski Patrol has ongoing expenses to keep safety a priority at the Snow Bowl, and works each year refill the coffers.

The 2022 calendar will be available next fall, just in time for the holidays.

Here’s how it works:

Get outside in the snow with your family or friends (COVID precautions recommended) and build a snow person, animal or other sculpture, and take a selfie with that which you have created.

Then, send your photo to us (photos must be submitted as JPGs with a dpi of 300 or greater).

Submissions will be judged on creativity and imagination, especially those reflecting the fun to be had in the great Maine winter.

Submit a selfie with your snow creation on or before May 15, 2021 (yes, it snows in May in Maine!).

Submissions will be reviewed and the best 12 entries will be chosen by patrollers to include in their 2022 Snow Sculpture Selfie Calendar that will be made available for sale at participating sponsors, the Snow Bowl, and online.

Email your photos, along with name of photographer, the name of all those who created the snow person/animal/sculpture, the location, and those in the photo itself, to  raggedmountainskipatrol@gmail.com

And, have fun!
