THOMASTON — The Portland Stage presents "Play Me a Story" Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., at Watts Hall Community Arts, in Thomaston.

This event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a dramatic reading of cherished children's tales. From The Spectacular Suit by Kat Patrick to Nervous Nigel by Bethany Christou, and from Mr. S by Monica Arnaldo to All the World by Liz Garton Scanlon, each story celebrates the uniqueness of individuals and the power of choice in self-expression.

Immediately following the reading, kids aged 4 to 10 are invited to participate in an interactive acting workshop led by Portland Stage's Education Artists. This engaging session aims to kindle literacy, nurture creativity, and ignite the dramatic dreams of young participants.

Thanks to a generous Community Grant from Walmart #1797, tickets are available on a Pay-What-You-Wish sliding scale, including free tickets, with a suggested price of $15 per person. Advance tickets are available online at https://wattshallcommunityarts.thundertix.com/events/227655, and tickets will also be available at the door.
