Police charge driver following Owls Head rollover
OWLS HEAD — This morning, Dec. 8, at 8:19, Knox County Sheriff's Office was called to a report of a single-car rollover crash on Ingraham Drive (Route 73) in Owls Head.
Lorraine Fowles, 52, of Owls Head was heading south in her 2007 Ford wagon, according to news release from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.
“Fowles lost control of her vehicle and overcorrected,” the release said. “She crossed the northbound lane and struck an embankment causing the car to roll over on its side.”
Fowles, who was traveling alone, was not injured. Deputy John Hansen arrested Fowles at the scene and charged her with operating under the influence and driving to endanger.
Fowles was transported to Knox County Jail.
The car was a total loss.
Owls Head Fire, Rockland EMS and Rockland police assisted at the scene.
