MRC adds more summer tennis camps to meet demand

ROCKPORT — Due to a high demand for summer tennis camps, the Midcoast Recreation Center has announced a trio of afternoon sessions to meet that demand. 

All summer tennis camps will adhere to guidelines established by the Maine CDC and United States Tennis Association.

Kids will be divided into smaller groups with minimal group crossover.

Coaches will wear masks or face coverings when social distancing is not guaranteed; kids are encouraged to bring masks or face coverings.

Hand sanitizer breaks will be included.

Each child will have designated areas (at least six feet apart) to store their belongings and to sit during break times.

Curriculum and activities will be based on social distancing measures, whenever possible.

Ground markers will be used consistently to help maintain social distancing during practice and play times.

Any frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected consistently.

The following afternoon sessions have been added: 

July 13-16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for middle school students

July 20-23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 11-18 

Aug. 10-13 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 7-12.

July 6-9 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., red ball ages 4-7

July 6-9 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., ages 7-12

July 13-16 from 9 a.m. to noon, ages 11-18

July 20-23 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., ages 7-12

July 27-30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., ages 11-18

August 3-6 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., red ball ages 4-7

August 3-6 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., ages 7-12

August 10-13 from 9 a.m. to noon, ages 11-18

August 17-20 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., ages 7-12
