SHUTESBURY, Massachusetts — Michael Crowe, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at his home in Shutesbury, Massachusetts after a long illness. He was born in Waltham, Massachusetts to Earl and Stella Crowe, and was brother to Bill Crowe and Anne Symes, all of whom predeceased him.

Michael grew up enjoying time with family in Maine and Eastern Massachusetts. A lifelong Red Sox fan, Michael also enjoyed spending time outside in nature. After attending the University of Massachusetts in Amherst he remained in the area with friends.

He had a passion for art, both visual and written. An accomplished woodworker, Michael was well known for his custom signs throughout the Connecticut River Valley. Later he served as the editor for his late brother's newspaper publication “Fishermen's Voice”.

While the arts brought him joy, being a father was the greatest love. He had a great sense of humor, read about history and debated friends on politics and science.

He was compassionate and kind and will be missed by many.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Kayla Crowe, and nephew, Ed Symes.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
