Maine Farmland Trust to focus on farming in greater Blue Hill area with Aug. 14 event in Brooksville
The Maine Farmland Trust is hosting a community event in Brooksville: Growing the future of farming in Greater Blue Hill, Aug. 14, 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Tinder Hearth, 1452 Coastal Road.
The Blue Hill region has a number of farms that contribute to a thriving local agricultural economy. The public is invited to learn how Maine Farmland Trust’s agricultural conservation, farm viability, and policy programs work together alongside a strong community network to strengthen this local food system.
Enjoy pizza and gather inspiration by spending time with other supporters of agriculture, farmers, and local food. Learn from MFT President and CEO Stacy Brenner about how MFT is stepping up to support farmers in Blue Hill and statewide.
Hear from farmer Molly DellaRoman about how she and her partner Tim Skillin have leveraged several MFT programs to support 5 Star Nursery and Orchard.
Get energized by how Molly and other farmers of MFT’s Farmer Advocacy Committee are advocating for agriculture at the municipal, state, and federal level.
