Loyal Biscuit, Rollies raise more than $1,200 for adoptable pets

BELFAST — Loyal Biscuit Co. and Rollie's Bar & Grill teamed together this week to host a standing-room-only fundraiser, "Pints for Paws," to benefit the P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center (formally Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League). It was the first time the businesses have partnered for the cause.
The Feb. 20 event exceeded organizers' expectations, according to Loyal Biscuit owner Heidi Vanorse Neal. In just three short hours on a Wednesday night, more than 200 people came through Rollie's doors, enjoyed dinner, purchased raffle tickets, and, like the name says, enjoyed pints of beer to benefit the shelter -- 200 pints to be exact.
"We are excited to say that we raised $1,231.90," said Neal.
In a press relase, Neal said organizers wished to thank the following for helping be a part of an "amazingly successful" night.
They include: Paddy Mills, Sarah Daniels, Penobscot Bay Pilot, Fidelis Biscuit Co., Fetch, Zeke's Dog Retreat, Revival Salon, Maine Boats, Homes and Harbors, Seth Tinder, Greg Thayer, Makin' Waves, Dogwood Animal Retreat & Professional Pet Grooming, Blake Veterinary Hospital, Downtown Dog Walker, City Drawers, Scroll Saw Art, Rockbound Computer, Jude Spacks, Maine Maritime Museum, J. Donna Asmussen, Green Tree Coffee & Teas, Hamilton Marine, EBS, Absolute Style, Kompletely K-9, Colonial Theater, Wag It, Embody Massage & Yoga, Georganne Bendall, Pine State Beverage Co., Coyote Moon, Pet Food Experts, Allen Insurance & Financial, Nunn's Home Décor, FIORE, Light in the Forest Photography, Paw Print Pet Lodge, Maine Chefs, Left Bank Books, Dunkin Donuts, and Liberty the Dog from Art's Marine.
"Also, we owe a big thank you to our respective staffs for their help with the event," said Neal. "Again, thank you so much to everyone that attended and who helped to make this night successful."
