Lighthouse tower ribbon cutting to celebrate reopening, anniversary of Grindle Point Light Station
A Lighthouse Tower Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held Sunday, June 29, at 6 p.m. Visit Grindle Point Light Station for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the re-opening of the Grindle Point Light Station Lighthouse Tower and the 175th Anniversary.
"Enter the drawing for a T-shirt and to be the first person along with four of your family or friends to climb the steps to the tower for an amazing view (must be over 18 years of age to enter drawing)," said a news release.
All climbers must be school-age or older.
"Climb to the lantern room, enjoy the panoramic views of Penobscot Bay, visit the museum and gift shop, and enjoy an enlightening conversation with one of our knowledgeable museum attendants," said the release.
The grounds include the lighthouse, sailors’ memorial museum, boat house, and oil house.
Refreshments will be served.
