Jackie Harjula wins all the jelly beans and that beautiful sterling urchin pendant necklace

CAMDEN — Visitors to the PenBayPilot.com booth at the April 13 PenBay Chamber Business and Community Expo not only had the opportunity to meet the directors of the company and learn more about what the company can do for their businesses, they were able to enter a contest for two prizes, one sweet and the other sparkly.
Inside a glass jar on the Penobscot Bay Pilot’s table was more than $100 worth of Jelly Belly jelly beans, a mix of flavors that were hand-counted, to the last bean, the morning before the show. Also inside the jar was a beautiful sterling silver urchin and diamond pendant, designed, made and donated by Russell's of Camden
The urchin pendant included a natural coffee-colored diamond, approximately 0.04 carat, and was strung on an 18-inch sterling silver rope chain. Russelll Spera said the pendant is also available with a Maine tourmaline.
Of the 93 guesses entered into the contest throughout the afternoon, just nine came even close to guessing the total, which was 3,312. By a margin of just 21 over, the winning guess was made by Jackie Harjula of Thomaston, who wrote 3,333 on her entry form. Calder Meil was the next closest, guessing 3,337 (25 over), while Sarah Reuf-Lindquist guess under the total with her guess of 3,250, which was 62 short.
Thanks to all of the competitors who took a chance, and entered a guess. And thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth to learn about PenBayPilot.com and it’s products, to tell us how much you like the website and the Wave magazine, and to catch up. We look forward to seeing you at the Expo next year, and around town the rest of the year.
