J. Edward Knight Insurance has reached an agreement to purchase the property and casualty book of business from Atlantic Insurance & Benefits. The change will officially go into effect on January 1, 2027.

 

J. Edward Knight Insurance is an independent insurance agency serving communities across Maine. Atlantic Insurance & Benefits has long served Maine families and businesses as a full-service insurance agency with deep local roots, according to a Knight news release.

 

"Under this new transition, clients can expect a seamless experience with continued dedication to the personalized service they have come to expect," said Knight Insurance. "All existing staff will be staying on board, ensuring that clients continue working with the knowledgeable professionals they know and trust."

 

To maintain convenient local access, Atlantic Insurance & Benefits’ offices in Belfast and Deer Isle will remain open, according to the news release. Meanwhile, operations from the South Thomaston office will officially merge into the current J. Edward Knight Rockland office on January 1, 2027.
