I’m Voting For Ann Matlack

Mon, 10/22/2018 - 12:30pm

My name is John Spear and I urge you to join me in voting this November 6 for Ann Matlack for State Representative from District 92.

I'll be voting for Ann as I'm confident that when Ann takes her seat in the Maine House she will cast her votes, in reality your votes, in support of Maine families.

I'm confident that Ann will vote to support public education and our dedicated educators.

I'm confident that Ann will vote to support efforts to curtail the opioid epidemic, understanding that we are never going to simply arrest our way out of this crisis and that a multi faceted approach including prevention and treatment is required.

I'm confident that Ann will vote to restore our public health system, once the envy of the world, but which has been so shamelessly decimated over the past eight years.

I'm confident that Ann will vote for scientifically based environmental policies that protect our health and support our natural resource based economy.

I'm certain that Ann will vote for property tax relief. Supporting efforts to fully fund local schools and restore municipal revenue sharing. Rejecting the false claim that the state cut spending, when in reality it simply shifted the burden to the local property tax.

I'm certain that Ann will vote to support our new Governor in quickly implementing Medicaid expansion in accordance with the clear mandate of Maine voters. Providing 70,000 hardworking Mainers with health insurance and boosting our economy by bringing millions in federal dollars into our state in support our struggling rural hospitals.

And finally I'm voting for Ann as I am more than certain that Ann will vote to reject failed policies and restore the capacity of our child protective services to insure that no child in this State will ever again have to live with the haunting fear and physical trauma that we witnessed this past year.

Please join me in voting for Ann Matlack.
