Henry grew up in Dedham, Massachusetts and spent summers in Marion, sailing and fishing in Buzzards Bay. He loved wrestling and was an avid paddle tennis player. He was a member of the Grosse Pointe Club, known as “The Little Club”, where he docked his sailboat and played paddle tennis. He returned to Grosse Pointe for a few years, but when his wife Kathy passed away, he moved to the retirement community Quarry Hill in Camden, Maine. He was an active member of the Congregational Church.
