DaPonte String Quartet and Pianist Christopher O'Riley to perform piano quintets by Schumann and Korngold
The DaPonte String Quartet, known for its compelling interpretations and exceptional artistry, has announced a series of concerts featuring the piano quintets by Robert Schumann and Erich Wolfgang Korngold, with pianist Christopher O'Riley. The performances will take place in five locations in New Hampshire and Maine.
Schumann’s Piano Quintet, a cornerstone of the chamber music repertoire, showcases an interplay between the piano and strings, brimming with emotional depth and lyrical melodies, according to a news release fro m Bay Chamber Concerts. In contrast, Korngold’s Piano Quintet reflects the composer’s unique blend of lush Romanticism and modern sensibility, offering a vibrant and captivating listening experience.
