Coastal Mountains Land Trust seeks renewal of national accreditation, public comment period now open
Coastal Mountains Land Trust is applying for renewal of accreditation, a program that recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. A public comment period for CMLT's renewal is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. Coastal Mountains Land Trust was first accredited in 2010 and renewed accreditation in 2015 and 2020.
"Our organization takes pride in completing a rigorous review of our work to meet and exceed national quality standards," said CMLT. "We believe genuine relationships with our members, donors, landowners, neighbors, and community members are built upon honesty, integrity, and transparency, and are essential to the lasting success of our work."
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Coastal Mountains Land Trust complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards see http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.
