Brian Keith MacDonald, obituary
CAMDEN — With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Brian Keith MacDonald on April 9, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by loved ones in Rockport.
Anyone who knew Brian knew his deep devotion to those he loved. Always welcoming, always warm, his presence was marked by a kind smile and a friendly greeting. You could count on the TV being on, and wherever Brian was, his beloved cat Aries was never far behind.
Brian's love for his wife, Phyllis MacDonald, was profound and ever-present. He often spoke of her with great affection, and in his later years, found true happiness simply by being by her side cozy at home watching TV together.
Born to Blanche Evelyn Gray MacDonald and Edward Neal MacDonald Sr., Brian was the eldest of five boys. He grew up enjoying the outdoors with his brothers—camping, hunting, and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes. He later worked in home construction alongside his brother Skip. A loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, Brian never missed a game.
Brian was predeceased by his parents, Blanche Moylen and Edward MacDonald, Sr.; his brother Michael MacDonald; uncle Horace; son-in-law Scott Lessard; and grandson Brayden Grotton.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis MacDonald; his brothers Ricky, Bret, and Skipper MacDonald; his stepchildren, Angela Lessard, Anette Proctor and her partner Steve Simoneau, Otto Proctor; his niece and nephews, Autumn MacDonald, Keenan MacDonald, and Norman; and a great-nephew, Weston; grandchildren Brittney Grotton and her husband Roger, Michael Lessard and his wife Kialy, Zoey Proctor, Brandon Lessard and his wife Ashley, Skylor Patcholski-Proctor, Oceana Patcholski-Proctor; great-grandchildren, Talan Grotton, Gabby Grotton, Damion Richards, Maylea Patcholski-Proctor, Dylaila Lessard, and Miles Lessard. He was filled with excitement for his two new coming great-grandchildren.
Brian’s memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was a testament to loyalty, quiet strength, and the joy of simple presence.
“Being ‘ready to die’ does not mean we will not have sadness in leaving this world. It means we will know it is okay to leave. We can have a calm assurance that our future and the future of those we love is secure.” – Hank Dunn
