Belfast library hosts iPhone and Android classes in January
BELFAST — The Belfast Free Library and the National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) will be offering two series of free computer classes: “iPhone Basics” on January 6, 7, and 8, from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by “Android Basics” on January 21, 22, and 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. Each series contains three classes, and attendees should plan on attending all three classes of their chosen series, as each subsequent class will build on knowledge learned in the previous.
The “iPhone Basics” course covers the basics of how to use Apple’s popular iPhone. This class starts with the basics of how to log on using multiple methods, from passcode to touch id to face recognition technology. Apple’s iCloud service will be discussed, including how it will help secure your data and allow your data to be used across multiple Apple devices. The App Store, used to find additional applications that may meet your varied interest and needs, will also be discussed. This class series will take place on January 6, 7, and 8, from 2 to 3 p.m. Please bring an iPhone connected to the internet to the classes.
In “Android Basics,” attendees will be able to get started with an Android device; learn how to use essential applications like email, contacts, camera, and Chrome; and manage its settings. This class series will take place on January 21, 22, and 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. Please bring an Android tablet or phone with internet access to the classes.
These classes are free to Maine residents, but space is limited and registration is required. To register for one or both of these classes, please fill out the form on the NDEC website at https://digitalequitycenter.org/classes/class_location/belfast-free-library/. These classes will take place in the library’s 3rd floor conference room.
