ROCKLAND — The U.S. Coast Guard employed one of its aircraft today, Oct. 30, flying over the Rockland Breakwater, in search of a possible person in the water. By early afternoon, however, the search was called off.

According to a Coast Guard spokesperson, a Good Samaritan, who had been watching the live feed from a camera that is focused on the Breakwater, reported seeing a jogger run along the Breakwater, wave at the camera, and then disappear from view.

The concerned Good Samaritan called the Coast Guard, which, in turn, initiated a search along the waters around the harbor in the vicinity of the Breakwater.

“There were no signs of anyone in the water,” the Coast Guard said, at 1:30 p.m.
