16 Counties for Courage: Statewide demonstration day for Waldo County, March 1
Saturday, March 1, has been declared a statewide day of protest with actions taking place in all 16 counties, according to a news relese from the group Peace and Justice of Waldo County.
In Waldo County, people will gather at Post Office Square in Belfast at 2 p.m. to stand in solidarity with peaceful demonstrations across Maine to End the Madness of the Trump administration and Elon Musk's DOGE, the release said.
"We stand to demonstrate our commitment to protect democracy, against authoritarianism, and to restore equity for all under the law," the organizers said. "All seeking an end to the administration's harmful executive actions and dictates at home and abroad are welcome."
The protest is endorsed by Peace and Justice of Waldo County, The Alliance of Intervening Citizens, and Indivisible Waldo County.
