CAMDEN, ME, June 24th, 2024 – Matthew Levin, Director of Hotels for the Bay View Collection, presented a check today to the Island Institute of Rockland, Maine. Representing the Island Insti-tute to receive the check was Jennifer Seavey, Chief Programs Officer. The donation of $3,150 is in support of the organization’s mission. For over 40 years, the Island Institute has boldly navigated change with island and coastal communities to expand opportunities and deliver solutions.
The donation was a result of Rockport Harbor Hotel’s Great Rates for a Great Cause campaign that ran this past winter and spring. Guests who choose to participate received a 50% discount off their two or more-night stay, and in exchange for this great discount, pledged to donate at least $50/night to the Island Institute.
The Island Institute is just one of several local charitable organizations that the Bay View Collection partnered with and supported this year. At Grand Harbor Inn they offered a similar discount to guests in support of Peach Ridge Sanctuary, at 16 Bay View Hotel, they partnered with Aldermere Farm, and at Lord Camden Inn, they partnered with the Travis Mills Foundation.
“Giving back to our community is woven into the fabric of the Bay View Collection and our owners, Stuart and Marianne Smith”, says Levin. “The mission of the Island Institute matters, and resonates for many of our hospitality family and we are excited about the opportunity to contribute to their great mission of supporting coastal, and island communities.”
The Island Institute’s, Jennifer Seavey stated, “the generosity of the Bay View Collection makes it possible for us to magnify our work with communities to address climate and economic changes in innovative, meaningful, and resilient ways.”
