The Prophetic Meaning of Numbers by Roy Roden

     Are you seeing numbers at various times? Such as waking up at night just to see a number like 1:11 or 2:22 or 3:33, appear on your clock? God is communicating to you. We shall cover numbers a bit later, but first, lets look as some prophetic basics. 

A God of Communication

     In John 1:1 it is written that Jesus is called the “Word of God.”   God is a God of communication. From the very beginning, for fellowship and interchange, God communicated with His creation.  Adam and Eve “heard the voiceof the Lord God walking in the garden” (Genesis 3:1).  The disciples knew Jesus as the living Word who dwelt among them (John 1:14). The Word is a person, the Lord Jesus Christ who still speaks to His people today. Jesus, declared, “ My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me” (John 10:27.)

      Fundamental to every believer is the ability to hear His voice. His voice however, is not always heard as a “voice.” As the temple of the Lord, God has said, “I will dwell in them and I will walk in them and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (2 Cor. 6:16). As God’s garden, His voice walks in our thoughts, our heart, feelings and our five senses of sight taste, smell, and hearing. God also speaks to us through Scripture, prophesy, visions and dreams (Acts 2:17). There are a myriad ways that God speaks. One way that God speaks is through numbers.

On Numbers

    Many repeatedly see the number 1. Often this number is seen in various combinations such as 1:11, 11:1 and 11:11. This holds true for other numbers such as 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8.

   These numbers are often seen at random times, such as on a mailbox, a letter or on a license plate. When you see the same number consistently, God is trying to convey something to you. If this is the case, it’s the hour to inquire, “Lord, what are you up to? What are you saying and how shall I respond?
