Make Three Fresh Herb Sauces with John Hixson at the Garden Expo

Josh will show you how to make delicious sauces with herbs from your garden that will enliven summer dishes and draw people back to your table. Possibilities include pesto, chimichurri, chermoula, and Green Goddess dressing. 

As an intregal part of the Expo morning, Josh will be one of four "in the know" local food gurus. As a demonstrator, Josh will give two 25 minute demonstrations on how to use fresh herbs as effective condiments. 

Here is how this works. From... 

11:30 - 12:30 Breakout Sessions in the Auditorium and Cafeteria-

Ticketholders will be able to choose two breakout sessions to attend. Each session is 25 minutes each.

It is a line up of terrific, local conributors to the food and garden scene in the Camden area.

Josh  Hixson worked in restaurants in Nashville, Boston and New York. In 2002 he moved to Maine to start a family. For the past twenty years, Josh has been deeply entrenched in the local food scene. Camden Garden Club is lucky to be hosting him.

2025 Garden Expo: Need to Know

When and where... Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 9am to 4pm (Doors open at 8:30am) o   9am-1pm at Camden-Rockport Middle School, 34 Knowlton Street, Camden ME 1pm-4pm at Old Souls Farm, located in Camden – this is a private address to be communicated the day of the event

Tickets sales are limited... Sold exclusively online. No credits for purchased ticket without exception.

Attendees will present their Ticket Order receipt to gain admittance to morning and afternoon sessions Show us your receipt via your mobile phone or a print-out. The Ticket Order receipt will be automatically sent via email following your online credit card transaction.

Parking... Limited availability at the school. Public parking lot is accessible from Knowlton Street and Washington Street – located behind Knox Mill with the Public Safety Building just below to the left (walkable to/from Middle School)

Event will be held rain or shine.

The Middle School  is handicap accessible; the Old Souls Farm is not.

Public restrooms are available at the Middle School.

The Camden Garden Club is the oldest garden club in Maine and welcomes members of all backgrounds, whether or not they live in Camden.

We meet at St. Thomas' in Camden on the third Thursday of the month from April to November. We meet at 9:30. All are Welcome.
