The legislature and state government is a complex organization that takes a lot of time to unpack and understand. How complex is it?

186 state Senators and Representatives sit on 23 Joint Standing Committees, which oversee 13 state government departments and 199 smaller state agencies. Although School House Rock did a great job of laying out how a bill becomes a law, they left out the immense complexities legislators face on a daily basis.

Experience matters. Having unpacked and uploaded a great deal of this governmental organization into my brain, I am poised to continue the complicated work legislators face every day.

I also have the experience of serving a full term on the Rockport Select Board, am currently serving as Chair of the Mid-Coast Solid Waste Corporation, a member of the Rockport Budget Committee, American Legion, and the Joint Camden-Rockport Pathways Committee.
