Rockland woman charged with threatening to shoot neighbor
ROCKLAND — A Rockland woman who was arrested Feb. 20 for allegedly threatening to shoot her neighbor has been released from jail.
Victoria Porter, 53, was charged by Rockland police with terrorizing, criminal threatening, disorderly conduct and misuse of the 9-1-1 system.
Porter made her initial appearance in Knox County Unified Court Feb. 21 where her bail was set at $200 cash, which she posted. She was released from jail with supervision and must comply with the Maine Pretrial Services contract, including no contact with the victims and the Rockland police officers who responded to the scene of the incident, except in a professional capacity.
According to the affidavit filed in court by Rockland police, they responded to a residence on Masonic Street during the evening of Feb. 18, after the Knox County Regional Communications Center received a call from a man that his neighbor was allegedly harassing him and his girlfriend. He said that Porter was banging on their adjoining apartment wall, yelling obscenities and threatening to shoot them.
The victim said that he has been having ongoing harassment issues with Porter.
Detective Joel Neal and Sgt. Scott Soloranzo were in the victim’s apartment and heard Porter yelling from next door. When the officers went to Porter’s apartment to speak with her, she refused to let them in her apartment, according to the affidavit.
Rockland then police obtained an arrest warrant Feb. 20 and transported the woman to the Knox County Jail.
Porter is being represented by her court appointed attorney, Meegan Burbank of Boothbay Harbor.
She will appear in court again March 15.
