Waldoboro Police beat: Stolen boat, juvenile drug possession
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 193 calls for service from Nov. 6-22. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Nov. 7
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident at the intersection of Atlantic Highway and Union Rd at 10:05 a.m. Ramona Ryckman, 81, of Cushing, was driving a 2009 Nissan sedan. Barbara Kane, 87, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2014 Jeep utility vehicle. Ryckman was traveling westbound on the Atlantic Highway, following the roadway. Kane was traveling eastbound on the Atlantic Highway, making a left turn and failed to yield the right-of-way. No injuries were reported.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that someone broke into her residence and did some damage.
Nov. 9
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that someone broke into a neighbor’s residence. They broke three panes of glass in the front door to gain entry. It is unknown if items are missing.
Nov. 13
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Friendship Road at 9:56 p.m. Sean Hunter, 35, of Bristol, was driving a 2001 Subaru utility vehicle. Hunter was traveling southbound on the Friendship Road, following the roadway. He was operating the vehicle in an erratic, reckless, careless, negligent or aggressive manner, and vehicle went off the side of the road and into some trees. Injuries were reported.
Sean Hunter, 35, of Bristol, was arrested by Lash for operating under the influence, failure to notify of a motor vehicle accident and a warrant.
Nov. 14
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 6:33 p.m. Jacob Firth, 20, of Jefferson, was driving a 2005 Toyota sedan. Philip Reynolds, 77, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2007 Dodge van. Firth was traveling southbound making a left turn and failed to yield the right-of-way. Reynolds was traveling southbound, following the roadway. No injuries were reported.
Nov. 15
A 15-year-old female juvenile, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Chris Spear for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that someone stole her boat.
A 17- year-old male, of Washington, was issued a summons by Spear for assault.
Bradford Davis, 41, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Bartunek for operating with an expired license.
Nov. 16
Hesseltine investigated a complaint from a citizen of harassing text messages. Subject was found and warned on harassment.
Nov. 17
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on the Friendship Road at 3:00 p.m. Timothy Moffat, 26, of Kittery, was driving a 2004 Isuzu cargo van. The operator drove over the edge of the pavement, was unable to correct and went over the entrance to Thomas Road, over an embankment, and came to rest over the end of the street, causing damage to vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen that someone is tampering with her well.
Nov. 18
Sgt. Jamie Wilson is investigating a report from a citizen that someone is tampering with his well.
Nov. 19
Wilson is investigating a report from a citizen of an unwanted subject. Subject was gone of officer arrival.
Nov. 22
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Winslows Mills Rd at 5:17 a.m. Dennis Troxell, 30, of Waterville, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet sedan. Troxell was traveling southbound, following the roadway, came upon a curve and went off the road. Minor damage was sustained. No injuries were reported.
