BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Dec. 8-22. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

Dec. 8

Austin E. Hannington, 23, of Swanville, was arrested for operating while license suspended or revoked, disorderly conduct and operating under the influence on Nickerson Street in Swanville. 

Dec. 9

Robert J. Sadlowski, 45, of Dover Foxcroft, was arrested for criminal mischief on Taylor Road in Winterport. Sadlowski was also arrested Dec. 15, for violating conditions of release, stemming from an incident May 10. 

Kevin Kinney, 25, of Knox, was issued summonses for assault and criminal mischief on Webb Road in Knox. 

Dec. 15

Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on North Searsport Road in Frankfort where an operator traveling north was reportedly traveling too fast for the snowy conditions.  The vehicle slipped on icy roads, crossing the center lane before striking the guardrail of the southbound lane. The driver was uninjured and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Dec. 16

Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Belfast Road in Freedom. The operator of a 2013 Toyota was traveling west when they pulled in front of another vehicle while attempting to turn into a driveway. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a 2009 Subaru, were both uninjured. The operator of the Toyota was also uninjured in the crash. 

Dec. 17

Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Myrick Road in Troy. A two axle plow truck reportedly suffered  mechanical failure in the powertrain while plowing, causing the vehicle to begin rolling backward. The operator of the 1995 Ford was unable to stop the truck from rolling and it eventually rolled into a ditch and onto the vehicle’s side, where the body separated from the chassis. The driver was uninjured. 

Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Moosehead Trail in Jackson. The operator of a 2007 Hyundai was unable to stop at the Works Road intersection, due to snowy conditions. The driver was traveling on Works Road when they were unable to stop at the intersection, instead sliding across Moosehead Trail and striking a tree. The driver was uninjured.
