Rockport Police charge woman with heroin possession
ROCKPORT — A Rockland woman was charged with heroin possession after police said that she had more than two grams of the drug in her possession while being booked at the Knox County Jail.
On Jan. 11, at approximately 2 a.m., Rockport Police Officer Robbie Shaw observed a vehicle at the corner of Meadow and West streets where he had parked his cruiser. The approaching vehicle had a male passenger who attempted to exit the car on the passenger side as it was close to the stop sign but still in motion. The male passenger fell back into the vehicle and was not injured.
According to Rockport Police Officer Craig Cooley, after Shaw stopped the vehicle, Ashley Clark, 30, of Rockland, was charged with operating under the influence. Clark's passenger, Jeffrey Heriot, 31, of Rockport, was charged with violating conditions of release from prior convictions.
After being transported to the Knox County Jail, Clark was also charged with unlawful possession of a Schedule W drug.
