Three teens charged following Oceanside East High School burglary
ROCKLAND – Rockland Police have charged three teenagers allegedly responsible for the Dec. 20 burglary and vandalism at Oceanside High School.
According to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower, video cameras in the school identified the three suspects. Cameron Dana, 18, of Owls Head, has been charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief; a 17-year-old male juvenile, of Owls Head, was charged with burglary and criminal mischief, and a 17-year-old juvenile, of Rockland, was charged with criminal trespassing.
One of the juveniles was a student at the high school.
Sgt. Detective Chris Young, Sgt. Ken Smith and Officer Scott Solorzano conducted the investigation. The three suspects were charged on Dec. 22 and 23.
On Dec. 20, the burglary was reported at 8 a.m. Police discovered that fire extinguishers were emptied of their contents, school, staff property were vandalized and personal belongings of staff were stolen.
School officials have not yet determined the monetary value of the vandalized items and stolen property of the staff.
The campus of Oceanside East is at 400 Broadway, in Rockland.
Rockland Police Deputy Chief Wally Tower said at that point that he did not know how entry was made into the school.
