Searsport boys fall to George Stevens

BLUE HILL — The high school varsity sports season season continued on Monday, Dec. 15 with only one contest on the schedule for the day. 

The lone event saw the Searsport boys basketball squad hit the road to battle George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill. 

After taking a three point lead at the halftime break, George Stevens outscored Searsport 22-9 in the second half. 

At the end of the day, George Stevens defeated Searsport 68-53.

Searsport was lead by Troy Reynold who netted 25 points, which included seven 3-pointers, while Jacob Powell and Eric Philips netted nine each. 

At the end of the first, Searsport lead 16-13. At the end of the second and third periods, George Stevens was up 27-24 and 49-33, respectively. 

In the junior varsity contest, George Stevens defeated Searsport 51-47.
