State Police Troop D beat: Marijuana, fictitious inspection stickers, speeding

    AUGUSTA — Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity Oct. 6-13. Troop D is responsible for Maine's Midcoast, including Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Waldo, and Knox counties, the southern half of Kennebec County and part of northern Cumberland County. The troop also patrols Interstate 295, from Brunswick to Gardiner. The troop's complement includes a lieutenant, three sergeants, 25 troopers and a secretary. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Oct. 6

    Trooper Kyle Pelletier stopped Daryle Gormley, 42, on Route 4 in Turner for an inspection sticker violation. At the time of the traffic stop, Gormley's license was revoked and he was issued a summons for the offense.

    Trooper Seth Allen issued Darrien Donohue, 19, a summons for the sale and use of drug paraphernalia in Randolph.

    Trooper Allen stopped Miranda Dawson, 23, in Topsham for a vehicle defect. Dawson's license expired in May and she was issued a summons for operating with an expired license greater than 90 days.

    Oct. 7

    Trooper Allen stopped Justin Parcell, 33, in Gardiner for a vehicle defect. Parcell's South Carolina license was suspended and following investigation, Parcell was issued a summons for operating without a license and misuse of a public benefits instrument.

    Trooper Allen stopped a vehicle in Chelsea for failing to stop at a stop sign. Following a vehicle search by Trooper Eric Verhille and his K9 Clint, heroin and crack cocaine were located in the vehicle. A passenger, Todd Lunt, 38, of Chelsea, had a warrant for a probation revocation and he was arrested on the warrant and also issued summonses for providing a false name and date of birth, possession of heroin and possession crack cocaine.

    Trooper Bethany Robinson responded to Randolph for a report of criminal mischief. Someone had thrown a rock through the back of a vehicle window. Investigation continues.

    Troopers Nicolas Gleeson and Erin Ball responded to a complaint in Chelsea. The complainant reported that a subject had struck her car with a baseball bat several times and then taken off on foot. Investigation continues.

    Oct. 8

    Trooper Gleeson responded to Nash Road in Pittston for a possible home burglary. The investigation continues.

    Trooper Allen and Christopher Rogers located Daniel Usher, 20, smoking marijuana underneath the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Bridge in Gardiner. Usher, who was on bail conditions for trafficking marijuana, was arrested for violating conditions of release.

    Oct. 10

    Trooper Moore was dispatched to a single vehicle crash in Albion, where Jon Madore, 59, of Dresden, was ultimately arrested for operating under the influence.

    Oct. 11

    Trooper Pelletier stopped Matthew Drouin, 33, on Route 197 in Richmond for a seat belt violation. At the time of the traffic stop Drouin had a loaded firearm in the vehicle and he was summonsed for the offense.

    Trooper Pelletier stopped Frederick Evans, 65, on West Road in Bowdoin for operating a vehicle with a suspicious inspection sticker. Following investigation Evans was issued a summons for the offense.

    Trooper Robinson stopped Jillian Henderson, 27, of Windsor, and Dwight Willett, 28, of Augusta, for a vehicle defect on Route 9 in Chelsea. A consent search resulted in the discovery of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia and Henderson was issued a summons for sale and use of drug paraphernalia. Willett was issued a summons for possession of a useable amount of marijuana.

    Trooper Allen stopped a juvenile driving a vehicle with what appeared to be a fictitious inspection sticker. The licensed driver, Pearl Ward, 32, was aware the sticker was fictitious and she was issued a summons for displaying a fictitious vehicle certificate.

    Trooper Allen stopped Joan Marshall, 51, in Liberty for a vehicle defect. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the car. Marshall was issued summonses for the offenses.

    Trooper Desiree Wuthenow took a report of a break-in in Liberty. The complainant reported that his parent's summer home had been broken into within the last two weeks. Investigation continues.

    Trooper Benjamin Sweeney responded to a complaint of copper theft at a residence in Liberty. Evidence was collected and the investigation continues.

    Oct. 12

    Trooper Sweeney initiated a traffic stop on Raven Road in Thorndike. Joshua Raven, 23, of Thorndike, had a warrant for his arrest and he was transported to Waldo County Jail without incident.

    Troopers Sweeney and Bureau assisted the Waldo County Sheriff's Office with a domestic incident in Palermo.

    Trooper Allen stopped Jessica Monroe, 28, for speeding in Litchfield. Monroe's license was suspended and she was issued a summons for the offense.

    Trooper Wuthenow took a report of harassment in Burnham. Investigation continues and charges are pending.
