Michael E. Archer, obituary
THOMASTON — Michael E. Archer, 62, of Thomaston, passed away on March 12, 2025 after a long illness. He was born on September 12, 1962 in Camden, Maine, to Sumner R. and Kathryn E. (Ludwig) Archer.
Mike was a graduate of Georges Valley High School, class of 1980. After graduation, he attended Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.
In the past, he had worked for Bruce Laukka Construction. In the years that followed, Mike took on various roles, including assistant manager at Maine Mall Mobil and, most recently, shoe department manager at Reny’s in Camden.
Outside of work, Mike had many hobbies. He loved music, enjoyed the thrill of football games, and found joy in long rides on his bicycle. He cherished the time he spent with friends and especially his brother Tom, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Michael is predeceased by his parents; a half-sister, Maria Archer; and his stepfather, Peter S. Thompson.
He is survived by his two brothers, Thomas J. Archer or Warren and Scott D. Archer and his wife Lisa of Palm Coast, Florida, as well as his half-sister Carolyn McMahan of Spruce Head and his half-brother Randall Butler of St. George. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
A private burial will be held later in the spring at Village Cemetery on Thomaston, where Mike will find his final resting place surrounded by the beauty of the community he loved.
