Lorraine Nancy Ward, obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Nancy Ward on March 13, 2025. Lorraine was a beacon of love and strength, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Predeceased by her parents, Milton and Ivy Bragdon, and her siblings, John Bragdon and Wendy Danforth, Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of warmth and dedication that will be cherished forever.
Lorraine is survived by her brother, Wayne Bragdon; her devoted son, Daniel Ward and his partner, Lacy Abbott. She was a proud grandmother to Ashley Sullivan and her husband, Thomas Sullivan, Kamry Black, Cayleigh Ward, and Lacey Ward. Her great-grandchildren, Ava Sullivan and Beckett Sullivan, along with many nieces and nephews, will carry forward the lessons and love she imparted to them.
A hardworking and respected figure, Lorraine dedicated many years to the poultry and seafood industries, notably at Stinson’s Seafood in Belfast, where she rose to the position of warehouse supervisor. Her colleagues admired her leadership and her commitment to her work, reflecting the diligence and care she brought to every aspect of her life.
Lorraine’s greatest joy was her family. She spent countless hours nurturing and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passing down her knowledge of cooking, baking, and gardening. Her home was a haven of love and learning, where family bonds were strengthened and cherished and there was always something baking in the oven. Lorraine also had a passion for motorcycles, finding freedom and exhilaration in riding, especially in her younger years.
Lorraine’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and devotion to family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be profoundly missed.
A service to celebrate the life of Lorraine will be held on April 4, at 1 p.m., at Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast.
