ROCKPORT and YARMOUTH — Neuropsychology and Concussion Management Associates (NCMA) announces the addition of Dr. Katherine Baum to its team of professionals.
“Dr. Katherine Baum, a seasoned neuropsychologist, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to NCMA,” said a news release.
Baum earned her B.S. in Psychology from Plymouth State College, an M.Ed. in Counselor Training from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. She is Board certified in neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (ABN) and currently serves on the ABN Board of Directors.
"We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Kathy Baum to Neuropsychology and Concussion Management Associates," said Dr. Kendra Bryant, founder of NCMA. "Her wealth of experience, dedication to patient care, and leadership in the field make her a valuable addition to our team. Dr. Baum's arrival enhances our ability to provide the highest standard of neuropsychological and psychological care to our community."
Baum's expertise extends to providing neuropsychological evaluations for adolescents, adults, and older adults, with additional proficiency in conducting forensic evaluations, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA, HIMS certified) evaluations.
“Her passion for enhancing cognitive health aligns seamlessly with NCMA's mission to provide personalized and evidence-based neuropsychological and psychological care,” said NCMA.
Her journey in neuropsychology began in 1996 during a pre-doctoral internship at the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she developed an interest in testing and neuropsychological evaluations. Baum further honed her skills through a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, with placement at the Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged.
Baum's extensive career includes roles as a neuropsychologist at Comprehensive MedPsych Systems (CMPS) in Sarasota, Florida, co-ownership of a group practice, and the establishment of a private neuropsychology practice in Bennington, Vermont. She returned to Florida for the position of clinical director and later director of testing and neuropsychology with Refresh Mental Health.
Neuropsychology and Concussion Management Associates, founded by Dr. Bryant in 2012, operates across offices in Rockport and Yarmouth, Maine, as well as Dover, New Hampshire. The practice, consisting of seven neuropsychologists and psychologists, two therapists, four neuropsychometrists, and dedicated administrative staff, excels in offering services for young children through adults. In addition to comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation for clinical and forensic purposes, NCMA's specialties include concussion management, brain wellness evaluation and coaching, memory disorder evaluations, vocational evaluation, and specialized clinics for ASD and ADHD, complemented by individual evidence-based therapy and executive function coaching.
