UPDATED: Thomaston police investigating Old County Road crash
THOMASTON — Thomaston police are awaiting blood results and other requested information as they continue an investigation into a vehicle crash that sent three people to Pen Bay Medical Center Sunday evening.
Just before 6:15 p.m., February 13, 2022, a southbound 2010 Toyota Tundra allegedly struck a 2018 Ford F150 on a stretch of Old County Road between Dexter Street and West Meadow Road, police say.
According to Sergeant Hansen, of Thomaston PD, Darrel Guptill, 60, of St. George, was not wearing a seatbelt while driving the Toyota that police believe struck the other vehicle.
Michael Smith, 62, also of St. George, was belted in as driver of the other pickup truck; his two-year-old granddaughter was also in the truck and belted into a car seat.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Creek Hill towing.
THOMASTON — Thomaston police are investigating the cause of a two-vehicle head-on crash that sent three people to the hospital Sunday evening.
Just before 6:15 p.m., February 13, 2022, two pickup trucks collided on the Thomaston side of Old County Road between Dexter Street and West Meadow Road. For approximately an hour, that section of road was closed to traffic while Thomaston and Rockland EMS crews, with the assistance of firefighters and law enforcement agents, loaded the vehicles’ occupants onto stretchers and into awaiting ambulances.
Thomaston Police Department was assisted by Rockland police officers and deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
