ROCKPORT — Camden Hills Regional High School celebrated its homecoming Oct. 8-9, an event that was greatly welcomed by fans and athletes of the Windjammers as the pandemic hindered the homecoming celebration in 2020.

On Friday, the football team fell 44-30 to Morse and the cross country team hosted a meet with Medomak Valley, Hampden Academy, Skowhegan, Belfast, Morse, Nokomis, Brunswick, Oceanside, Lawrence and Maine Central Institute.

Fittingly, the girls cross country team placed first in its home meet and Jenna VanRyn finished first among all the girls competing.

On Saturday, the junior varsity boys soccer team kicked things off with a 9-0 victory over Oxford Hills.

There were a trio of games were held at noon: the boys varsity soccer team bested Oxford Hills 6-0, the junior varsity girls soccer team topped Mount Ararat 4-1 and the varsity field hockey team lost 2-0 against Brunswick.

The junior varsity field hockey team also competed against Brunswick, though no result for that was immediately available.

The festivities concluded with the Camden Hills boys freshman soccer team earning a 5-1 win against Mount Ararat and the varsity girls soccer team besting Mount Ararat 3-0.
