CAMDEN — In preparation for the paving of the Mechanic Street parking lot next to the old five and dime on Wednesday morning, the town is closing a portion of the street to parking altogether, Tuesday night.

Mechanic Street, from the Main Street (Route 1) intersection to Washington Street will be closed to many parking Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

“Please use the Public Safety building parking lot or the Knox Mill parking lot,” asks Camden Police Chief Randy Gagne.

“Vehicles in violation will be subject to ticket and towing at the own’er expense,” he said. “And we really don’t want to do that.”
