BELFAST — Waterfall Arts presents “You Are Never Alone: Paintings by Sally Stanton, Libby Sipe and Emily Sabino,” opening on April 27, 2024 and running through June 7, 2024. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Waterfall Arts, in Belfast.

This exhibition explores the power of connection and the universal human experience, reminding us that we are never truly alone, even in the face of difficulty, according to Waterfall Arts, in a news release. Through their distinct artistic approaches, each artist delves into themes of healing, self-discovery, and the solace found in the natural world.

Waterfall Arts describes each of the artists as follows:

Sally Stanton’s vibrant and expressive paintings draw upon memories, dreams, and the unquiet world, blurring the lines between reality and the subconscious. Her work encourages introspection, inviting viewers to contemplate the complexities of the human condition.

Stanton holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an MFA from the Solstice Program at Pine Manor College. Her work has been exhibited extensively throughout New England.

“My process restores my well-being. Each new painting is an adventure, a surprise,” said Stanton. “When I honor my intuition, really listen, and allow whatever shows up to make a case for itself honestly, it is healing.”

Libby Sipe’s powerful and evocative paintings offer a visual journey through personal experiences, utilizing mixed media to explore resilience and the transformative power of artistic expression. Her work challenges viewers to confront difficult narratives with compassion and understanding.

“My work encompasses my experiences with poverty, child abuse, and sexual trauma,” said Sipes. “Through medium experimentation and play, I turn inwards to explore and heal.”

Sipe is a process-driven artist whose work has been featured in exhibitions across the United States and the United Kingdom.

Emily Sabino’s ethereal and captivating paintings celebrate the interconnectedness of all living things. Inspired by the natural world, her work invites viewers to reconnect with their own inner landscape and find solace in the beauty and wisdom of the Earth.

“My paintings aim to capture a slice of the earth magic and expanded perspective that is available to all when listening to the natural world,” said Sabino.

Sabino is an abstract representational painter living in Midcoast Maine. Her work has been exhibited across the state and is included in the Maine Arts Journal.
