BELFAST — A Northport woman was arrested Aug. 4, following a brief chase with Belfast Police, according to Chief Michael McFadden.

Amy L. Feener, 34, has been charged with operating after suspension, failure to stop for an officer, driving to endanger, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and eluding an officer. She was also issued a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Feener, who had three children with her in the vehicle, was reportedly driving on Waldo Avenue around 10 p.m. when Officer Colby Leavitt attempted to initiate a traffic stop for a minor infraction.

McFadden said it appeared that Feener was going to stop when the lights and siren were activated, but she instead continued driving.

Sergeant Brian Lunt, who was following Officer Leavitt’s vehicle in his own cruiser at the time, took the lead role in the chase, which ultimately ended in a parking lot.

Feener reportedly pulled behind the building in an attempt to evade officers but was blocked by a tractor-trailer making a delivery to one of the stores.

She is scheduled to appear in Waldo County Unified Court Sept. 21.
