Winter Horticulture Series to discuss Living on the Edge: The Changing Waterfront Environment

Blake Sanborn, landscape architect and Camden Garden Club member, will speak Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 9:30 a.m., on climate change and how it impacts the waterfront environment of coastal Maine. Sanborn is an award-winning landscape architecture leader with over 20 years of experience, designing and implementing community-serving open spaces, residential properties, and mixed-use development. Sanborn is proud to volunteer on the NCC Executive Committee of the American Society of Landscape Architects where he has chaired the Stewardship and Sustainability committee, according to a Camden Garden Club news release. 

He has personally overseen the development of One Shenzhen Bay from its start in 2010. In addition to this landmark project, he has been recognized for producing design excellence in Australia, Asia, and the United States. Recently he received international attention for his innovative work with Resilient by Design which generated leading solutions to climate change as it relates to urban environments surrounding San Francisco Bay. The international practice that he leads is focused on reimagining the way that nature can integrate with the built environment.

The Club welcomes Blake Sanborn back to his native state. His expertise on the changing waterfront environment is a greatly anticipated topic, according to the Garden Club.
