WCGH care team members honored with awards in 2023
BELFAST — Waldo County General Hospital care team members were honored with employee awards during a ceremony held Tuesday, Aug. 29, on the hospital campus. The ceremony was the first in-person awards event since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emily Evans, RN, a nurse at WCGH Primary and Walk-in Care, won the Standing Ovation Award. Standing Ovation Awards recognize care team members who display MaineHealth values, extraordinary service, an exceptional attitude, a can-do spirit, and a willingness to listen and motivate. In her nomination, Evans was recognized for her ability to stay calm and help guide a patient through an emergency situation over the phone.
Tracy Wilcox, a CNA in the hospital’s medical/surgical department, won the Sunshine Award. Wilcox was recognized for always being “one step ahead” and for making patient care and safety her top priority.
