Waldoboro Rec. Department announces summer camp plans
WALDOBORO — The Town of Waldoboro Recreation Department is eager to announce the expansion of its summer camp options this summer.
For starters, the camp will run seven weeks instead of the previous five weeks.
Additionally, the camp hours will be all day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., instead of just mornings, with options for before and/or after care, on a space available basis, for an additional fee.
Registration for the camp is now open with Waldoboro residents prioritized. Nonresidents will be accepted on a space available basis.
The program provides seven weeks of structured activities and field trips for children entering first through seventh grade. A full schedule of activities and field trips will be released in the near future when a few more field trips are locked in.
Camp will run from Monday, June 28 to Friday, August 13 at the Miller Elementary School gymnasium.
Parents, legal guardians or designated representatives must sign children in and out each day. There are a maximum of 45 spots available each week.
Before and aftercare will be limited to 20 campers; before care runs from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and aftercare from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided through Healthy Lincoln County’s Summer Meals program.
Waldoboro residents pay $900 for the full program, or $135 weekly ($945 total if paying weekly).
Nonresidents pay $1,000 for the full program, or $150 weekly ($1,050 total if paying weekly).
Before care is $15 per week, while after care is $20 per week.
A limited number of scholarships are available for Waldoboro citizens. Contact the Recreation Department at 832-5369 or rec@waldoboromaine.org for more information. Registration forms can be found on its Facebook page or sent by email.
