Waldoboro police beat: woodlot trespass, gas drive-offs, nails in driveway
WALDOBORO – Waldoboro police reported the following activity, June 23-July 7. Waldoboro officers responded to more than 300 calls for service in this time period. Below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Officer Jeffery Fuller summonsed Paul Ward, Jr., 20, of Waldoboro, for operating after suspension.
June 24
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a report of harassment involving juveniles.
Hesseltine investigated a report of an unwanted subject.
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated a report of an unwanted subject. Subject was found and warned on trespass.
June 25
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 1:50 a.m. Matthew McFarland, 30, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2004 Volkswagen sedan north on the Washington Road. A deer ran into the roadway from the right. McFarland struck the deer and veered left into trees. He was taken to the hospital for right side pain.
Hesseltine investigated a report of harassing phone calls.
June 27
Hesseltine arrested James Guptill, 27, of Waldoboro, on a warrant.
June 28
Fuller summonsed Kayla Morris, 18, of Tenants Harbor, for driving to endanger and failure to show proof of insurance.
June 29
Fuller investigated a report of the theft of a wallet.
Officer John Lash investigated a report of an unwanted subject. Subject was found and warned on trespass.
June 30
Fuller investigated a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle.
July 1
Hesseltine investigated a report that someone broke into a residence and stole medication and jewelry.
Hesseltine arrested Jessica Parker, 32, of Waldoboro, on a warrant.
July 2
Chief William Labombarde and Hesseltine investigated a report of gun theft.
Hesseltine investigated a report of nails thrown into a driveway.
Hesseltine investigated a report from Maritime Farms of a $35 gasoline drive off. The subject was found and returned to pay for gasoline.
July 3
Hesseltine summonsed Joseph Thibodeau, 23, of Waldoboro, for uninspected motor vehicle.
Hesseltine arrested Christopher Chandler, 34, of Waldoboro, on a probation violation.
July 4
Hesseltine investigated a report of medication theft.
Fuller investigated a report of unwanted subjects. Subjects were found and warned on criminal trespass.
Sergeant Jamie Wilson investigated a report from the Big Apple of a $59.43 gasoline drive-off. Subject was found and returned to pay for gasoline.
Hesseltine arrested Stephen McLean, Sr., 60, of Waldoboro, for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
July 5
Fuller investigated a report that someone damaged the electronics on a boat while it was at the Pine Street Landing overnight.
Sergeant Jamie Wilson investigated a report that someone was trespassing on a wood lot and stealing wood.
