Waldoboro Police beat: Stolen check that was cashed, harassment, stolen laptop
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 121 calls for service from Nov. 28-Dec. 6. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Dec. 1
A 15-year-old female, from Union, was charged by Officer Chris Spear with harassment and assault.
Dec. 2
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident at the Kaler’s Corner and Mill Street intersection at 3:24 p.m. John Crane, 75, of Port Clyde, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck. Deborah Lord, 60, of Cushing, was driving a 2015 Subaru utility vehicle. Both vehicles were traveling east on the Kaler’s Corner Road. Crane failed to stop in time as Lord was making a left hand turn onto Mill Street, striking her vehicle in the rear. Injuries were reported for Lord.
Dec. 4
Fuller is investigating the report from a citizen of a stolen laptop.
Stephen Parmley, 65, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller for a violation of conditional release.
Dec. 5
Officer Chris Spear is investigating a report from the Medomak Valley High School of an unwanted subject.
Dec. 6
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 7:20 a.m. Edward Laflamme, 70, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2004 Toyota sedan. Laflamme was traveling northbound on the Washington Road, hit an ice patch, lost control and struck a guardrail. No injuries were reported.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of a check for $280 that was stolen and cashed.
