Waldoboro Police beat: Accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 74 calls for service from Jan. 3-9. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Jan. 3

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 8:22 p.m. Travis Emerson, 43, of Washington, was driving a 2011 Nissan utility vehicle. Emerson’s vehicle was traveling northbound, following the roadway. He tried to go around a cow standing in the northbound lane, but was unable to avoid it. No injuries were reported.

    Jan. 6

    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident at the Main/Jefferson Street intersection, at 12:48 p.m. Tammy Richards, 54, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2007 Hyundai sedan. Lorelie Davis, 65, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Suzuki sedan. Richards failed to yield the right of way, pulling out from Jefferson Street in front of Davis who was traveling down the hill on Main Street. Davis attempted to avoid the collision, but due to road conditions was unable to stop. No injuries were reported.
