BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Dec. 21-29. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

Dec. 21

Mark A. Yarbrough, 23, of Pittsfield, was issued a summons for speeding 70 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 7. 

Brice Sinclair, 71, of Brooks, was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation on Route 52 in Lincolnville.

Dec. 23

Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Monroe Road in Monroe. The operator was reportedly traveling too fast for the icy road conditions and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle, a 2005 Jeep, went off the road before running into a ditch, which caused the vehicle to roll over before landing back on its wheels. The operator was uninjured and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Dec. 24

Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Route 1 in Northport. The operator of a 1999 Ford reportedly lost control of the vehicle after encountering black ice. The vehicle left the roadway, driving across a residential lawn before the vehicle came to rest in a ditch. Deputy McDonald observed icy road conditions and skid marks that matched the story given. The vehicle received minor damage and the driver was uninjured. There was also minimal damage to the residential lawn involved.
